Asalée (équipe libérale action santé) is an association that brings together over 2,000 nurses and 9,000 general practitioners and pediatricians, all of whom serve the patients. The association provides personalized and coordinated care to patients. Cécile Favier, who works at “La Médicale du Parc”, was interviewed on the matter.
Asalée intervenes at all stages of health, from childbirth to palliative care. The system is based on the principle that the patient should remain at the center of the consultation. Listened to and accompanied, they become an active participant in the management of their illness, or actor in the prevention and education of health. To put it simply, there are three missions: educating on health, prevention, and putting the patient at the center of their care or treatment.
The “free” nursing care provided by Asalée was a great opportunity for physicians. Our goal is to make care easier for both patients and practitioners. Asalée reduces the final burnout. Since becoming an Asalée nurse, I spend time with each patient and work at their pace. I am doing my job as I have always dreamed of. It is truly helpful for patients and physicians.
However, there seems to be a rift with the Cnam. Asalée is a refuge of professional calm and the changing working conditions concern the profession. Negotiations are underway to appeal to the Cnam to save the system. We condemn the barriers and pressures we face from the Cnam, which call into question our autonomy and legitimacy. We are faced with a financial, social, and legal urgency that threatens the continuity of care for patients and our work.
We are awaiting a response from the Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister, whom we have already informed. Realizing the added value of Asalée, which responds to current public health issues, access to services and service quality, seems of the utmost importance. Both parties must find common ground to reach a mutual regulatory agreement.
Asalée nurses are key players in public health. Childhood overweight and obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular risk, asthma, sleep or cognitive disorders, tobacco withdrawal… are our intervention domain.
