Engaged in responsible environmental practices and convinced that small gestures can make a difference, the HappyCulture hotel in Nice – a member of the Honotel group – held its first major beach cleaning operation on Monday, March 25, from 10am to 12pm.
Supported by the Nice Côte d’Azur Métropole, this environmental initiative involves the participation of about thirty employees from 9 Niçois companies belonging to the group: The Deck Hotel, Villa Bougainville, Hotel Le Grimaldi, Hotel Excelsior, Hotel Nap, Hotel Jay, Hotel So’Co, Villa Otero, and the OZZ hostel.
As part of this eco-citizen collection, the Nice Côte d’Azur Métropole provided the team with the necessary equipment for cleaning up the beach: a waste collection tool, a high visibility vest, a pair of anti-cuts gloves, a giant ashtray, a weighing cell and balance, a plastic bag, and disposable gloves.
Beyond its direct benefits, collecting waste on beaches aims to raise public awareness of pollution and to encourage individual and collective awareness and initiative.
Since 2015, all HappyCulture companies have initiated an ambitious CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program – Commended Hospitality – which offers travelers and employees the opportunity to engage in concrete environmental and social actions. For example, filtered fountain water has replaced plastic bottles and individual packaging has been abandoned at breakfast.
