(AOF) – Génération has launched its third annual barometer which provides a detailed overview of the health consumption habits of its 2.4 million insured individuals. Once again, 2023 confirms the trend observed since the post-Covid period: a strong recovery in health consumption, with an average reimbursement reaching nearly 500 euros per beneficiary, representing an increase of 6.6% compared to 2022. Although this growth shows a slight slowdown during the year 2022, this figure remains significant, unlike the previous period where the increase was not too significant (+3.5%).
The impact of the 100% Health system remains important in the fields of dentistry (+5.2%) and audiology (+4.6% compared to 2022), a system that France has implemented well, especially since it still needs to be paid for in a high amount decreased (halved since 2019).
Insured individuals are increasingly using alternative medicines, with an increase of 10.4% by 2023, even if their share in the total health services remains relatively low (4.2%). Among these, osteopathy remains the most popular (+4.3%), but it is the costs related to well-being that are exploding (pedicure +19.7%; dietetics +15.9%; podiatry +25.2%).
